“We have spent the evening looking at your wonderful photos. So happy with them! Thank you for doing such a great job of capturing the stories and the emotions of our day. We love our wedding photos. Thank you so much! We will treasure them for a lifetime.”
Now, where to start with these two? I met the ridiculously lovely Claire and Pete in September last year for a bicycle themed pre-wedding session at a local park in Sheffield. It was beyond adorable:
…and I was more than a little giddy about photographing their big day in July. ESPECIALLY when I found out that their venue of choice was, in fact, only about five minutes away from my house. Whut?!! The Wood Lane Countryside Centre is an absolute gem of a place and one I’d somehow completely missed in my two years of living here. I don’t know how that happened, but I’m mighty glad this wedding introduced me to it! If you’re looking for a gorgeous intimate venue with beautiful grounds in Sheffield (excellent public transport links and all) then do get in touch with the guys at Wood Lane.
My day started with Claire and her bridesmaids over in sunny Hathersage, while my wonderful assistant (Cat Lane Weddings) snapped away on site where Pete and co were getting ready and setting up a glorious array of flowers and decorations. I found out a little later in the day that all of the flowers had actually been grown and arranged by a couple of their family friends! There was so much love and support from all angles for these two, it was genuinely inspiring and looked rather like this:
I’ll not lie, I was more than a little bit in love with Claire’s dress. She looked absolutely incredible! Pete and the groomsmen rocked some rather dapper suits and all. Oh, and excellent socks, if this snap by Cat is anything to go by:
With everyone ready and looking suitably gorgeous, it was ceremony time! It was beautiful, I came down with what was obviously hayfever and not me being extremely soppy, and there were huge cheesy happy grins EVERYWHERE. Y’know those weddings where you come out feeling internally sunshine-y and very definitely not articulate enough to describe how lovely it actually was? It was one of those.
Now, I won’t harp on about the rest of it as the photos will hopefully show you exactly what a beauteous day it was, but I will say that it included twirling groomsmen as well as twirling bridemaids, some amazing wedding food by The Rude Shipyard, the most adorable flower girl AND possibly one of the best first dances I’ve ever witnessed. All that’s left to do is say one more huge thank you to Claire and Pete for being such a pleasure to work with! Congratulations again, you two.
Until next time,
